4. Create a library
Create a new library
Within the menu (File) select the order (New Library).
Orcad presents the dialog box (Project Manager) for a new library, which you can see the name of the library by default (Library1), which in turn corresponds to the name of the file.
Items (Parts) of the library is located inside the folder (Library Cache). As this is a new library, the folder is empty.

4.1. Add an item (Part)
Selecting the library at (Project Manager) and accessing the menu (Desing) is the order (New Part).
Another quick way is to click with right mouse button on the name of the library. In this case we see a menu with a series of actions on the library, among them are (New Part).

Component Properties
By creating a new component, the first thing you see is the properties dialog box, which sets out the main features.
- Name: Trade name of the component, if any. In the case of a generic component, it places the name by which it is known. Example: LM324, resistor, capacitor etc.
- Referent Part Prefix: Reference component that lists within a family. Example: U = Integrated, R = resistance, C = capacitor etc.
- PCB Footprint: encapsulation component used to generate the PCB netlist. This field is populated if the package is unique and known. Typically, the component has different types of packages. Example: Resistance = ½ W, 1W, 2W .. C. Integrated DIP, SO, SIP, PLCC, etc. PENTAWATT.
- Convert Create View: Equivalent electric DeMorgan. Door only digital circuits Boolean equivalence between AND and OR gates.
- Parts per Pkg.: When there are several elements within a single package. Usually occurs frequently in digital circuits, on the doors.
- Package Type: When all the elements contained in a package being equal, would choose the uniform, and if they are different each is selected differently.
- Part Numbering.: In the event that the package contains several elements, these can be identified in numeric or alphanumeric. Example: U? A, U: 1.
