3.2. Timed drive (time control)

Drives that require a fixed activation time or a time delay between the start and stop.

All items out of the home automation timers have processes that can be used for drives with short delays. The time delay can be fixed (1 minute) or variable time between 1 and 255 seconds (max. 4.25 minutes), when you need timers with long, repetitive programmed or be used with the clock home automation real time.

3.2.1. Light a lamp a fixed time of 1 minute

Example of using a switch to control a digital output of the home automation controller with a fixed time of one minute, for use in delay controls including: the input light of a building, the light of a service (wc) public, etc. ..

Normally, to control an illumination of this type are used timed switches or sensors with delay, special and expensive item, in our case using a conventional switch to replace all the elements that are usually used in a system with these characteristics.

Amplifier

• DO1 Digital Output 1 (relay 10A) of the Unit1 connected to an incandescent lamp.

Control

• 1 digital input DI1 of the Unit1 connected to a switch.

Program

For this type of control is recommended to use a button, but can also develop a central switch and home automation. The program has to handle the On (produced by activating the switch) and send the order to activate the relay from salt water for 1 minute DO1, process (Time On 1min). Also handles the event OFF (produced by stopping the switch), which send the same process (Time On 1min).

In this way each time the switch changes state (is activated), the lamp connected to the output DO1 lights during a time of one minute, after shutting it until there is a new change in the input DI1.

3.2.2. Set the activation time in seconds

Is the same above, replacing expensive electric timers for a simple low cost button.

Pushbutton can be for the control of small signals that it will not control anything power (1mA), and is not necessary to comply with special regulations already that works with low voltage (5v).

Dimmer

• Digital output 1 DO1 (Relay 10A) of Unit1 connected to a lamp filament.

Control

• Entry digital 1 DI1 Unit1 attached to a button.

Program

Suppose that we want to keep the lamp burning for 2 minutes. Controlling the Click event of the button, we send the process (Time On X sec) indicating as parameter 120 seconds. In this way everytime is a click is activated DO1 output relay, remaining in this State 2 minutes.
